Police have uncovered a house allegedly being used to manufacture and distribute fake alcohol, raising serious health and safety concerns in the community.
The operation was exposed after authorities received a tip-off about suspicious activities at the property. Upon raiding the house, officers reportedly found large containers of chemicals, empty branded bottles, counterfeit labels, and equipment believed to have been used to mix and package the illicit alcohol.
Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects were producing counterfeit versions of well-known liquor brands and selling them at cheaper prices to local taverns and individuals. Police also confiscated large quantities of ready-to-sell bottles during the raid.
Authorities warned that consuming fake alcohol can be extremely dangerous, as it may contain harmful substances such as methanol, which can cause blindness, organ failure, or even death.
At least one suspect was arrested at the scene and is expected to face charges related to fraud, illegal manufacturing, and the distribution of counterfeit goods. Further arrests have not been ruled out as investigations continue.
Police have urged the public to buy alcohol only from licensed and reputable outlets and to report any suspicious products or illegal operations in their areas.
